Friend just got back from Tokyo and she bought a phone strap bcs it was so popular over there too! I am too addicted to my giant water bottle to live that life but it seems very natural as you say!
What’s interesting is I think the need of the phone strap comes from a place of safety, because theft is a very real issue in Paris, where things could get snatched. Whereas in Tokyo, I don’t know but I would assume, is more about the fashion.
